Model: young trees ramp up from ~0 → 22 kg CO₂/yr by year 15, plateau to year 60, then slowly decline. Baseline from the US EPA Greenhouse Gas Equivalencies Calculator and US Forest Service (2011). Over 40 years, one tree removes roughly 900 kg CO₂.
